Basic Information

PH Insulation’s Sliding fire resistant gates (SG EI) are designed to enclose and insulate openings in refrigerated spaces with high fire safety requirements. Fire resistance class – EI30.

Sliding gates are used in medium and low-temperature cold rooms, refrigerated warehouses, and spaces with high fire safety requirements.

In PH Insulation you can order sliding fire resistant gates in any colors and coatings.

The sliding gates for warehouses and refrigerated cold rooms are designed to operate at an ambient air temperature ranging from -45°C to +55°C and a relative humidity of no more than 80%.

Types of Metal Coatings that are Used in the Manufacture of Sliding Fire Resistant Gates

·         Galvanized steel, painted with white polymer paint, RAL 9003 or you can order the gate leaf in any color of your choice according to the RAL catalogue

·         Galvanized steel without polyester coating. For universal use

·         AISI 430 all-purpose stainless steel

·         AISI 304 food grade stainless steel

 

Construction

The gate leaf is made up of one or several sandwich panels connected by fasteners. The joints are filled with fire-resistant foam, sealed with heat-resistant sealant, and covered with a metal plate on the outer and inner sides. Additionally, 2 mm thick u-shaped steel channels are installed at the leaf edges to reinforce the load-bearing capacity and integrity of the leaf.

The gates are made using sandwich panels with a three-layer construction:

- 0.5-0.8 mm thick steel galvanized painted metal or stainless steel sheets

- insulation made of fire-resistant PIR polyisocyanurate foam. PIR density - 45 kg/m3, thermal conductivity - up to 0.03 W/K-m

- fire-resistant materials

Double contour of thermal insulation seal and thermal expansion tape are installed along the inner perimeter of the gate leaf. In case the temperature increases to over 150°C the tape expands and fills the gap between the gate leaf and the frame, preventing the spread of smoke and fire in neighboring rooms.

The gate leaf is assembled only with fireproof sealants and foams.

SG EI’s frames in the low-temperature version are supplied with heating cable to prevent freezing of the sealing profile. All components of the sliding gate leaf for warehouses and cold rooms are designed without cold bridges to prevent heat loss.

The gates are wrapped in 50 μm thick film to prevent damage when transporting or mounting, the film is easily removed after the installation.

Please note that the overall dimensions of the metal frame depend on the size of the light opening:

 

·         Frame width = width of light opening + 400 mm

·         Frame height = light opening height + 280 mm + sill height

Sliding Fire Resistant Gates are equipped with hardware by top French door hardware manufacturer Fermod and hardware by PH Insulation.

Attention! To ensure trouble-free operation of the hardware and to extend service life of the gate, perform routine inspections at least once every two weeks. The inspection should include checking for adjustments, tightening fasteners, and ensuring the presence of lubricant on the rubbing surfaces.
