The PH Insulation’s design and engineering team developed a custom solution for the prompt replacement of refrigeration doors at the cold storage facility in Moscow. The enterprise needed to replace a quite aged cold room door, while saving the existing opening in the brick wall. The non-standard design was developed in just 7 days and manufactured within 14 days.
To replace the door, PH Insulation engineers proposed to use a door unit for cold rooms, which consists of a hinged refrigeration door and a door frame made of sandwich panels with PUR Classic core. Due to the 1800 mm width of the opening, the best option was to use a double-leaf door. The door leaf is made in the standard white color RAL 9003 on both sides, with a height of 2000 mm and equipped with Fermod hinges MTH lock.
The door unit was manufactured using three PUR Classic sandwich panels, pre-cast to the dimensions of the door opening at the cold storage facility. The ready-to-install door unit saved the client time for any on-site cutting or framing work, for insulating and leveling the dilapidated door opening.
Special anchor plates were installed inside the panels that allowed to easily mount the frame without additional tools and fasteners. At the construction site the contractor installed the hinged door and mounted the unit into the doorway.
