PH Insulation (ProfHolod in Russia) has manufactured and delivered over 7300 sq. m of mineral wool sandwich panels for the construction of Power Plant TPP-2 in Yerevan, Armenia. The project is implemented by the German conglomerate Siemens AG and the Italian Renco S.p.A.

For the construction PH Insulation has manufactured over 4000 sq. m of roof sandwich panels in two colors of metal — RAL 7015 and 9003, and over 3300 sq. m of wall sandwich panels in another two colors — RAL 9006 and 9003.

The major challenges PH Insulation has faced for supplying insulated panels for the power plant have been to comply with non-standard technical requirements and tight delivery times during the pandemic. Despite the global lockdowns, PH Insulation has fulfilled all commitments оn time.

Garik Chilingaryan, CEO of REM Group, the general contractor of Siemens and Renco S.p.A., says, “The new TPP is a landmark, unparalleled project for Armenia, unique in every aspect. Thus, we needed a trustworthy supplier of sandwich panels to partner. While we have been considering manufacturers from different countries, the paramount asset that we were looking for has been the potential partner’s reputation and experience in supplying for large projects, especially in Armenia. We have visited PH Insulation’s manufacturing facility, checked in to the continuous line and the R&D Center. We have discovered that PH Insulation is strongly committed to modern technologies to improve the efficiency of their insulation products, so it has been easy for us to choose to go with PH Insulation.”

Valeriy Ukhvatov, Project Manager at the Industrial Construction Department of PH Insulation says, “The project is one-of-a-kind in terms of the non-standard layout of the sandwich panels. The contractor has designed a vertical layout, which is rarely used in installation of mineral wool sandwich panels. The reason is, the mineral wool insulated panels come with more density and weight compared to the PIR or PUR panels. The PH Insulation’s technical department engineers have provided abundant free consultations to our partner on all the technical questions, including how to select the equipment for the vertical installation. As a result of our joint work, we have solved all the issues step by step, and the insulated panels were assembled on time. ”

The new Yerevan power plant is to be put into service by the end of 2021.
