ProfHolod is planning to improve its customized PIR Premier system, expand production, and become less dependent on raw materials’ imports by installing the most advanced reactor for polyethers synthesis in Russia.

The project investment cost is 5 million euros, the reactor is to be started in the end of 2019. The reactor is essential for the production of polyester, the main component of PIR, which is used in the customized PIR Premier system of ProfHolod.

The reactor is essential for the production of polyether, the Sergey Tokmakov, Director General of ProfHolod: «14 years ago we commenced the manufacturing PUR sandwich panels, and now, having accumulated the best world practices, we are using the customized PIR Premier system to manufacture insulated panels with improved physical and mechanical properties and thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK.

We can move very fast in the chosen direction thanks to the short decision-making chain in ProfHolod. As quickly as the market demands. We’ve decided to focus on pursuit of the ideal PIR formula here in Russia made of ideal components from around the world, seeking to create advanced high-tech products for heat control. Not so many Russian companies operate in this field, production facilities are mainly concentrated in the EU. Thus, when we deploy the reactor at ProfHolod, we will become less import dependent».

We will get hold of yet another tool that will help avoid currency fluctuations risks of raw materials’ costs, improve our PIR system characteristics, and empower us to expand into new markets with new products. This is going to be the most advanced reactor for synthesis in Russia, that will meet demand of the contemporary polyether market».

The customized PIR Premier system of ProfHolod is made of components from around the world, carefully selected at the Company’s R&D Center.

The insulated sandwich panels produced with PIR Premier system of ProfHolod show resistance of more than 185 kPa when tested for 10% distortion, and more than 160 kPa when tested at break, with the density of 40 kg/m3, fully in compliance with the European Standard EN14509.
